Lgbtq rep

In , Sarah McBride was elected as the nation's first openly transgender member of Congress. There are 13 openly LGBTQ members of the current (th) Congress, all of whom are Democrats. One is a senator and the rest are House representatives.
Emily Randall, who identifies as queer, became the first Hispanic or Latina LGBTQ member of Congress and the first openly LGBTQ member to represent Washington. Across both chambers, six members are gay men. Seven are women who are gay, lesbian, transgender or queer.
